Spring is in full swing, new graduates are getting ready to enter the workforce, and interns are looking for their summer jobs or internships. This is the perfect time to review your online employment application before the rush, and give it a much-needed update. Here are four quick ways to Spring Clean your employment application:
1. How long does it take to complete?
Visit your career portal and do a timed application to find out how long it takes to complete an entire application for employment. If it takes more than 15 minutes, it might be time to do a review and see which questions are absolutely required, and which ones can be removed.
2. How many required questions?
Forcing candidates to complete every single question on the application form slows the process down dramatically and can make it cumbersome to apply. You can quickly improve the candidate experience in a few minutes by reviewing your application, and removing the requirement for specific questions that you might ask at a later stage. (Note, contact information, Name, Address, Email is still required in iRecruit).
3. Remove Questions Unrelated to the Position
This is one of the best ways to clean an application, remove the questions unrelated to the type of position. Example, Marketing Assistant should not have to respond do the “Do you have a Commercial Driver’s License?” question.
4. Add Apply with LinkedIn Button
LinkedIn is in a tremendous growth phase, and a great source for personal branding and recruiting. Adding the Apply with LinkedIn button to your iRecruit employment application makes it quick and easy for candidates to apply. iRecruit will pull data efficiently from the LinkedIn user’s account.
